Whats Happening:
Jan 2010: Happy New Year to all our valued customers. We are currently rebuilding our website so keep checking for special offers in both our Portrait & Wedding Sections. Our studio is open in January,11am to 5pm from Tuesday to Saturday.

Well its been a busy start to the year so far as we had 7 weddings over the christmas period ! Hey we aint complaining given the economic times we are in! Bookings so far are strong for 09' although our friends in various hotels are preparing for a tough time this year. With this in mind we have kept our running costs down so we can pass it on to you our valued customers.
New Studio:
We also have moved our studio to a much larger and purpose designed location in upper bridge street in Callan. Our last studio in Kieran Street proved to be a liitle small for our business model so therefore management took it upon themselves to re-structure the business model to concentrate on our Wedding & School Services.
Staff:
We are delighted to have the assistance of Nick O Keefe having moved from Dublin roll up his sleeves and help us with the busy studio and christmas weddings. Nick is currently building his own Wedding Photography business and occassionaly helps us a as a second shooter. We wish him the best for the future! He is currently based in Clara,Co Kilkenny.
Trash the Dress:
This year we are also continuing our Trash the Dress & Cherish the Gown shoots where we bring adventurous brides to locations where you would not normally go especially with you dress! So now its hanging in the wardrobe looking lonely and you have beautiful classic images taken by your photographer well why not feel like a top model and let us get our creative juices flowing and design a half day of shooting high fashion avant garde portraits indoor or outdoor! To view the urban trash see type TRASH into the client log in area below.
If you dont think you or your dress is brave enough why not bring your friends along or even friends whom were recently married and are up for a laugh! We will even supply you with a dress if you dont want to use youre own,we were kindly donated over 40 gowns in all sizes from a very generous bridal shop especially for this. To view a recent urban trash please type Trash in the box below marked password.

Another month nearly over and its being busy considering all this doom & gloom,we shot 6 weddings in Jan and another 4 so far in Feb,lovely couples and very easy to work with. The light at this time of year is very low making it tough to photograph outside and you get faces closing down so we just get creative and use off camera flash to bring out those nasty shadows. I try to attend about 4-5 seminars and training courses throughout the year run by internationally acclaimed photographers such as www.Yervant.com. This mans is incredible and is at the top of his game, it seems all the best photographers come from Oz! Me thinks its the light...
Usually at this time when the studio is quiet we organise fashion shoots and experiment with different lighting techniques, this month we have lined up a burlesque model whom travels internationally and is based in Dublin. Coupled with some amazing gowns we hope to pull off some funky images...
A trend we have noticed in the studio lately is brides calling to let us know that they are changing hotels that they had already booked,i guess from the recent closure of castletroy hotel which i was sad to see go but times are changing. Joe Duffy also ran a article about this last week which caused a bit of a stir amongst brides to be! I see many threads since on weddingsonline with nervous brides whom had left big deposits with hotels and are now scared that they will close..My advise to any bride to be, is to take out wedding insurance and should the hotel ask for another deposit outside of the normal arrangements make it payable to their solicitors holding account.

RTE "The Fashion of Modelling" -Recently aired on RTE a fantastic insight into the wonderful yet misunderstood world of fashion, photography & modelling. As far as i know this was made by 2 male models whom have now turned their talents to documentry making. Well beautifully shot and well researched interviews with well regarded players in the trade. Amongst my faves were Model Alison Canavan...
