Annual Dinner -  November 2010

There was a full house for the Annual Dinner which took place in the clubhouse on Friday 19th November. Over 140 members and guests attended.  After dinner Senior Deputy President Ivan White proposed a toast to the IRFU which was replied to by Phil Orr, who wore both his club hat and IRFU hat on the night.  Paul Short proposed a toast to the guests and included some of his famous Bill McLaren impressions. The highlight speech was delivered by New Zealand rugby legend Sean Fitzpatrick who gave a highly interesting insight into what it was like to play rugby for the All Blacks.  Club President Niall Dineen closed the evening by presenting Sean with a hurley; a fitting gift as he has family roots in Tipperary.  After the formalities the more social part of the evening continued into the small hours, however for many some of the detail is probably a bit fuzzy.
