WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
It is a great pleasure to welcome visitors and members to our website. I hope you will find it informative and as with all applications we will be reviewing and updating it during the coming year.
To anyone considering joining Old Wesley I hope you will find a friendly club who like to play competitive and enjoyable rugby at all levels. We try to mix our serious rugby on the pitch with social activity off the pitch. So, if you are an aspiring senior or under 21 player, a newcomer to the game, an underage player or simply want to support and socialise in a relaxed club atmosphere why not try Old Wesley.
Our location and facilities are excellent – our headquarters is in Donnybrook where we play our senior and many junior games and have excellent weights facilities together with bar and function rooms. Our junior ground at Ballycorus in South Dublin has a new club house and three floodlit pitches which are among the best in Ireland.

Last season was a very successful one for the club – we consolidated our position in Division 2 of the All Ireland League while Junior rugby remains alive and thriving. Our J3 team won their league last year (unbeaten throughout the campaign) and were narrowly beaten in the Moran Cup final by Lansdowne. Our J2 team won the Albert O’Connell Cup with a thrilling victory over Clontarf and our U21s performed extremely well in their first year in the premier division.
Our underage section goes from strength to strength with over 250 members. We coach at all underage levels from under 7 to Under 18.
A particular thank you to our players and volunteer members who give freely of their time to coaching, managing, fundraising and administration from Senior to underage rugby.
Our main sponsors Elverys are starting a fifth year with us and I extend our thanks to them and all our other sponsors and advertisers.
Despite the fact that emigration is again raising its ugly head we are confident going into the 2011/12 season that our teams will be successful and with increased numbers playing the game in Old Wesley we will be in a strong position to enjoy our rugby and friendships.

IVAN WHITE - President 2011/12

Ivan hails from Portlaoise and was educated at Wesley College, Dublin where he was also captain of the Senior Cup Team. After leaving school he joined Old Wesley, playing out half and centre at various playing levels. He is a former club Hon Treasurer and Hon Secretary as well as having been involved over the years in many other aspects of club life. Ivan is MD of Peats World of Electronics. He is married to Karen and has three daughters and a son.
